Y'all're underutilizing blinkies
Like most neocitizens, I happen to like blinkies.
However, I'm a bit baffled as to why more people don't turn them into links. People seem to collect them, and then put them up, and they mostly don't go anywhere or do anything unless they're a badge for a specific site.
I think this is a lost opportunity to add fun interaction to your site. It also, on a more serious note, is a missed opportunity to link to information, or news, on beliefs and social issues.
For example: I see the common "right to repair" badge posted on lots of sites, but I've never seen anybody use it to link any information on the right to repair movement.
